What Is A Shrink Sleeve Label?

Mar 16, 2026

Shrink sleeves, also known as heat shrink labels, are a widely used packaging material. They are pre-printed plastic film labels that, when heated, shrink tightly to wrap around the surface of the product container, achieving a perfect seal between the label and the container. Shrink sleeves are commonly used for packaging beverage bottles, condiments, cosmetics, and daily chemical products. After heat shrinking, the label can completely cover the surface of the bottle, even for bottles with complex shapes (such as embossed, cylindrical, or irregularly shaped bottles), ensuring a tight fit and preventing it from easily falling off. It can cover the entire bottle or a portion of it, making the packaging look more aesthetically pleasing and neat, and enhancing its anti-counterfeiting and anti-tampering functions.

Shrink sleeves are typically made of thermoplastic films such as PVC, PET, OPS, or POF, offering good transparency, water resistance, and abrasion resistance. Full-color printing is possible, providing rich colors and detailed graphic effects to meet brand promotion and visual marketing needs. Shrink sleeves not only serve a decorative purpose but also facilitate mass production and automated packaging, improving packaging efficiency.
