Cleaning Methods For Self-adhesive Labels

Mar 03, 2026

When cleaning self-adhesive labels, it's important to remove surface dust and impurities. Use a soft, dry cloth, brush, or air blower to gently remove dust and particles from the label surface. Avoid vigorous rubbing to prevent damage to the label printing or peeling. For labels applied to smooth surfaces such as glass or metal, you can gently wipe them with a slightly damp cloth, ensuring that moisture does not seep into the label edges.

For oil stains or stubborn stains, you can use a low-concentration neutral detergent or alcohol swabs for spot cleaning. During this process, avoid contact between liquids and the adhesive layer on the back of the label to prevent affecting its adhesion. After cleaning, wipe the surface dry with a dry cloth to ensure the label is dry and clean, while maintaining readability.

Daily maintenance and environmental management are also important. Apply labels to clean, dry surfaces whenever possible, avoiding frequent friction or contact with corrosive liquids. For industrial or outdoor labels used for extended periods, regular inspection and cleaning are recommended to keep text, barcodes, or graphics clear, extending their lifespan and readability. Proper cleaning and maintenance can effectively extend the functionality and aesthetics of self-adhesive labels.
