Basic characteristics of roll films

Apr 17, 2026

Roll films are typically made of thermoplastic materials such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and polyester (PET), possessing excellent flexibility and tensile properties, allowing them to adapt to various packaging shapes. Their extensibility ensures the film won't easily break during wrapping, shrinking, or lamination processes, maintaining packaging integrity.

Roll films offer barrier and protective properties. Depending on the material and thickness, they effectively isolate air, moisture, grease, dust, and some microorganisms, protecting packaged goods from external environmental influences. This characteristic is particularly important in food, pharmaceutical, and chemical product packaging, extending shelf life and improving storage and transportation safety.

Roll films offer printability and processing compatibility. The film surface can be printed in monochrome or full color, coated, and decorated with spot UV or hot stamping, meeting brand promotion and visual appeal requirements.
